How to Add Media to E-Lite

Last Updated: Jul 06, 2015 02:15PM EDT
Adding Files to your E-Lite

What you will need:
  1. USB Flash Drive
  2. Computer
  3. Media files to transfer
  • First, connect your USB flash drive into your computer.
    • You may wish to verify the drive is formatted as FAT32
    • If not, reformat the drive as FAT32 using instructions specific to your operating system
  • On the root directory of the flash drive flash drive (ex. E:\), place your supported media content.
    • Please note that content in folders will ignored upon transfer
  • The E-Lite device also has support for web pages.
    • To load a web page, create a text file called ‘website.url’ and inside that file, place the URL of the page you wish the device to display.
    • The file can be named anything as long as it ends with .url, and will be what you see in the file manager.
    • Once you change the extension from '.txt' to '.url', your computer may not recognize the file, and you may have to select Open With -> Notepad to edit the file.
  • For web hosted media (remote files), create a standard text file ending in .txt
    • In this file, place all of your web media links, one on each line.
    • However, be mindful of the filetype restrictions
    • Your device will need to be connected to the internet to retrieve these files.
  • Safely remove the drive from your computer
  • Connect the drive to the E-Lite device
  • Wait for the Copy/Sync Success confirmation, then remove the drive
  • If unsuccessful, verify your USB drive is FAT32 or try another drive
For sample content, you can download the zip file here: http://mvixusa.com/download/firmware/MvixELite/elite_demo_content.zip
Simply unzip the file into the root directory of your USB drive (resulting in 8 files), and insert it into your E-Lite device. Your device will need to be connected to the internet to download some of the sample content.
