What do the Xhibit Device's on-screen messages mean?

The Xhibit device comes with various messages that will display when it is not displaying content. These messages often are just for reference and tell you, the customer, what is occurring with your device. The following knowledgebase article explains the most common on-screen messages.

If you meet the requirements listed above, simply follow the steps below to learn what the messages on your Xhibit device mean.

 

On-screen messages:

 
 
  • This message indicates your device is updating its media and is about to download new content shortly.
  • This message is typically seen after a reboot of your device, or after a new schedule has recently been published before it begins to download.
  • This message is will be immediately followed by the "Downloading Media" message below.
  • This message indicates your device is connecting to the XhibitSignage server and downloading content.
  • Once your content is downloaded, this message will disappear and your signage will resume.
 
 
  • This message indicates that your device's firmware is updating.
  • This message does not occur often and will only appear when a new firmware version is applied to a device.
  • This message indicates that your device has no active schedule to display.
  • This could be caused because the schedule is invalid or no schedule is currently assigned to this device.
